Sister Marie Wight
Sister Marie (Mary St. Charles) Wight was born in Lewistown, MT where she attended St. Leo grade and high school. After joining the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in Great Falls in 1947, she was the first postulant to come to Ottumwa, IA upon the reunion of the Montana and Iowa communities.
Sister graduated from Ottumwa Heights College, Marycrest College and the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul
Besides being a teacher, she also served as a creative principal. Her last 20 years were spent in the foothills of Lewistown ministering to her beloved elderly and caring for her many animals.
While planning to celebrate her 50th jubilee as a CHM she became ill and died. Sister is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls.
